Dew Shield

An extension of the OTA that acts much like a lens shade on a traditional camera. It physically helps keep dew off one’s OTA, which is especially helpful with scopes that use a glass “corrector plate” out in front of the tube itself – like Schmidt-Cassegrains (SCTs) and a Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph (RASA).
