EAA101
Observatory
I know. Many would consider this a luxury. But wow – if for no other reason, it allows an EAAer to leave all his/her gear set up – including all the wiring. This alone makes an observatory worth it. Polar alignment can stay in place too. All of this reduces the TNTSO (the “time necessary to start observing”) to a mere handful of minutes. In my case, I use a Pier-Tech Tele-Station 2 (with a roll-off roof). Many prefer a dome with a slit. The truth is, any kind of observatory is a game-changer if it can be arranged.
